To set up any email on your windows computer, you need an active internet connection with proper speed and bandwidth. Along with this, a valid SBCGlobal email address and password are mandatory for setting up SBCGlobal account on the computer. If you have all these basic requirements in your hand, then you can pursue further.
Setting up Microsoft outlook
Microsoft Outlook is a part of the office program. It stores information related to all the emails configured so far. To configure new SBCGlobal mail account, go through the below-mentioned steps.
Go to ‘File menu’ and click on ‘Info’.
From ‘Account settings’, go to ‘Drop-down’ menu.
Open Email option and click ‘Next’.
Go to ‘Manual setup’ and click on ‘Additional server’.
Open internet email and ‘Next’.
From here, you need to select ‘IMAP or POP3’ account type.
To set up the SBC account, click on ‘Automatic or manual’ setup.
If you want to set up the email account automatically, then follow the steps given below:
Enter the complete username and your name in the first two fields.
Enter email address in the next box.
You have to enter information related to the ‘Server’ details in the next box. In the email address, enter the complete address followed by @SBCGlobal.net or name of the internet service provider.
Enter the password you use to login to the account.
Re-enter the password for verification. Tap ‘Next’ to proceed to the next step. This will start the setup process. Outlook will then configure the account automatically.
After the successful configuration of account, you will find a ‘Greeting message’ on the screen.
Click to complete the setup process. Close new window if opened.
How to setup account manually?
Tap on ‘Manually configure the settings’.
Go to ‘Network mail’.
Enter personal details like name and username.
Select ‘Account type’ from the server information box.
Enter the incoming server address and the port number.
Enter the outgoing server address in the relative field.
Click ‘Other’ when asked for the internet service provider. Enter SBCGlobal in the ‘Name’ field.
Enter the username and password in the given boxes.
If you want to remember the login details, then click ‘Require login’ option.
Go to ‘Test account’ settings and click on ‘Step by step’ instructions in which the account is to be configured. The confirmation message will soon get displayed on the screen. The login SMTP server, internet connection, and POP3 server information will be displayed on the screen.
You will receive the text message in the inbox folder of your account from where you can copy the default email settings. If the account is configured on outlook as well, then the same will be synchronized on outlook.
If you want to make any additional changes, then go to ‘Advanced’ settings followed by ‘Internet email’.
Click to finish the setup process.
